High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol uptake may contribute to both lipid accumulation and tumor growth and survival in ccRCC [58,65,66], and targeting cholesterol uptake via the scavenger receptor B1 (SCARB1) may be a novel therapeutic target in ccRCC [66], although this requires further investigation. The gene discussed is SCARB1; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
