Although no additional mutations in known AML driver genes were detected in this patient, mutation in MUTYH gene appeared to cooperate with the CEBPA mutation at presentation due to its involvement in oxidative DNA damage repair [35, 36], compared to another accompanying mutation in the CFTR gene that was commonly reported in patients with cystic fibrosis [37, 38]. This evidence concerns the gene CFTR and acute myeloid leukemia.
