Fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor (vWF), and A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease with ThromboSpondin motif repeats 13 (ADAMTS13), a vWF-cleaving protease, are biomarkers that play key roles in coagulation and inflammatory pathways, and may therefore be associated with AF [8–10]. The gene discussed is VWF; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
