More importantly, the Cox data further underlined this finding, which demonstrated MEG3 (HR = 2.981, 95%CI = 1.159–7.664, P = 0.023), PCT (HR = 2.574, 95%CI = 1.029–6.434, P = 0.043), and delay from symptom onset to hospital admission (HR = 2.522, 95%CI = 1.080–5.887, P = 0.032) were alternative independent biomarkers for predicting overall survival of patients with severe pneumonia (Table 3).
