Genomic studies identified gene amplification of ERBB2, EGFR, FGFR2, MET and IGF1R, that encode targetable tyrosine kinase receptors [3] and activating mutations in KRAS, BRAF [4] and PI3KCA. [3] Gastric adenocarcinoma patients with advanced disease and amplified ERBB2 are eligible for trastuzumab therapy [5]. Here, ERBB2 is linked to gastric adenocarcinoma.
