TNF and rheumatoid arthritis: A recent ongoing postmarketing safety surveillance trial, ORAL Surveillance (Study A39212233), which is evaluating the safety of tofacitinib versus TNF inhibitors among RA patients aged ≥ 50 years and with at least one cardiovascular risk factor, raised concerns of a higher incidence of PE and all-cause mortality in patients treated with tofacitinib 10 mg twice daily compared with tofacitinib 5 mg twice daily or TNF inhibitors.
