Abnormal adipose tissue secretes chemerin and adiponectin—pro‐inflammatory and anti‐inflammatory substances, which may link obesity to diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease.4, 15, 16 In the present study, we observed higher levels of chemerin and lower levels of adiponectin in the high‐ba‐PWV T2DM group than in the low‐ and‐moderate‐ba‐PWV T2DM groups. The gene discussed is ADIPOQ; the disease is obesity disorder.
