CRP and diabetes mellitus: When adjusting for the most common risk factors for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (age, smoking, BMI, diabetes, and triglyceride levels4), ALP levels associated significantly with CRP and ESR in both sexes (r = .59, P < .001 in females and r = .40, P = .034 in males) and (r = .58, P < .001 in females and r = .47, P = .033 in males), respectively, and leukocytes, neutrophils, and NLR in females only (r = .52, P = .005; r = .47, P = .001; and r = .24, P = .018).
