Pulmonary inflammation was not altered in Mrp8cre-Btkfl/Y mice during pneumococcal pneumonia as compared with control mice, as reflected by similar lung pathology scores (Figure 5B), neutrophil influx (Ly-6G staining and MPO levels in homogenates)(Figure 5C) and TNF and IL-1β levels in the lung (Table S11); only lung IL-6 levels were increased in Mrp8cre-Btkfl/Y mice as compared to controls (p<0.05) (Table S11).
