Interestingly, mice expressing constitutively active SmoM2 in CIN (SmoM2ChAT-Cre+/− mice) did not exhibit further increases in average p-rpS6240/244 levels among CIN, suggesting that basal levels of Shh signaling produce a maximal effect on p-rpS6240/244 levels in CIN (Fig. 7c, d). Here, SHH is linked to cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia.
