Previous reports have shown that digoxin sensitizes gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine by inhibiting Nrf2 signaling through suppressing the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in SW1990/Gem and Panc-1/Gem cells [45,46], which led us to assess the effect of digoxin on the PI3K/Akt pathways in A549 and H1299 cells. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is pancreatic neoplasm.
