KIF11 and breast cancer: Besides its essential roles, it was recently shown that KIF11 overexpression might contribute to tumorigenesis [17] and is associated with a poorer prognosis in a broad range of cancers, such as breast cancer [18], hepatocellular carcinoma [19], laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma [20], astrocytic neoplasm [21] and renal cell carcinoma [22] among others, being suggested as a potential prognostic biomarker.
