Earlier we reported that in the tears of AKC patients, as in patients with SJS, but not in healthy controls, interleukin (IL)−6, IL‐8, eotaxin, and macrophage inflammatory protein−1b were significantly upregulated and that the level of total IgE was significantly higher in AKC patients than in patients with SJS and in the healthy controls.8 The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is Schwartz-Jampel syndrome.
