Therefore, it is speculated that the low expression of exosomal miR-26b-5p in the serum of patients with endometriosis may lead to reduced expression of the target gene PTEN, which could weaken the blocking effect on the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, thus promoting angiogenesis and thereby providing nutrition for the implantation of ectopic endometrium and promoting the survival and growth of ectopic endometrium to participate in the progression of endometriosis.
