Yan et al. (2018) reported that GOLM1 promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion but inhibits apoptosis in PCa cell lines (DU145, PC-3, and 22Rv1) by activating the PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway, supporting our hypothesis that NETO2 may promote the progression of PCa by upregulating the PI3K/Akt pathway. In addition, GOLM1 facilitates hepatocellular carcinoma metastasis by regulating membrane protein trafficking, especially the signaling kinetics of EGFR/RTK complex recycling (Ye et al., 2016). The gene discussed is GOLM1; the disease is posterior cortical atrophy.
