A study was performed on diabetic patients with coronary heart disease. They were supplemented with flaxseed oil for three months and the result obtained provided information that the level of gene expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-γ), lipoprotein (a) LP(a), interleukin-1 (IL-1), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), but did not influence low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) [16]. This evidence concerns the gene LDLR and coronary artery disorder.
