Anemia (10.67 ± 1.87 in gm%) and leukocytosis (10182 ± 5842 cell/cumm) were present in 42.85% of patients, and inflammatory markers were significantly raised in most of the patients (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) 84.5 ± 73.11 and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) 53.14 ± 14.67) (Table 2). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is anemia.
