PPARG and cancer: GLPM/Tel alone was able to improve drug distribution, suppress Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts (CAFs) by decreasing α-smooth muscle actin -markers of activated CAFs-, and destabilise stromal components by downregulation of connective tissue growth factors, while combinational therapy increased drug efficacy through the PPAR-γ pathway, as well as the uniformity of drug penetration due to the previous effect of the GLPM/Tel, administered alone, which relaxed blood vessels in the tumour’s microenvironment (54).
