Following stimulation of ACE2 expression, tumour growth was inhibited and the production of AT1R, ACE, and VEGF were reduced, due to ACE2 being known to convert Ang II to Ang 1-7, which has been proven previously to reduce tumour growth, invasion, and angiogenesis through reduced VEGF production in NSCLC. The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is neoplasm.
