SMIM24 (previously termed C19orf77) is a member of the small integral membrane protein family, the downregulation of which is related to steatosis, glucose intolerance, inflammation, and fibrosis in high-fat diet-, high-fat-high-cholesterol diet-, and methionine-choline-deficient diet feed mice (Song et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene SMIM24 and steatosis.
