In a sub-study of a randomized clinical trial including 54 participants with T2D treated for 26 weeks with liraglutide or placebo, we observed that liraglutide by end-of-treatment significantly decreased the expression of TNFA and IL1B, and upregulated CCL5 in PBMCs as compared to baseline. This evidence concerns the gene CCL5 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
