Mutations in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2, neu or ERBB2) are found in approximately 2–6.7% of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) [1–3], and the median overall survival (OS) in this subpopulation is around 22.9 months from the diagnosis of metastatic disease [1].
