FASN and prostate cancer: Similarly, in prostate cancer cell lines, the expressed mRNAs in cancer cell-derived EVs were characteristic of those in the parental cells, especially with the differential expression of androgen metabolism genes such as ETV1 and FASN (Shen and Abate-Shen, 2010; Huang et al., 2016), suggesting the use of those markers to distinguish the androgen sensitivity of prostate cancer (Lázaro-Ibáñez et al., 2017).
