Regarding TCF4 transcription factor, it has been reported that it plays a key role in the initiation of colorectal cancer progression through the upregulation of β-catenin/TCF4 target genes, such as c-MYC, AXIN2, and LGR5, regulating cell proliferation and stemness in epithelial stem and progenitor cells (47). This evidence concerns the gene MYC and colorectal cancer.
