Amyloid β (Aβ) is a key molecule implicated in the development of AD pathogenesis [19], which is generated from sequential cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) by two proteolytic enzymes- β- secretase (beta-site APP cleavage enzyme, BACE) and γ-secretase [20, 21]. This evidence concerns the gene BACE1 and Alzheimer disease.
