As early as 1998, it has been reported that Glypican-1 (GPC1) was overexpressed in pancreatic cancer cells; and that Glypican-1 could regulate the metastasis and angiogenesis of pancreatic cancer cells, playing a pivotal role in the oncogenesis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [12].
