While alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in the HepG2 cell supernatant were always below the detection limit, secretion levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AAT) and glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH) decreased significantly after incubating hepatoma cells with old and middle-aged Ch and CS wines compared to the control (p < 0.005). The gene discussed is SERPINA1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
