In newly diagnosed untreated MM patients, the proportion (%) of classical monocytes correlated positively with the serum albumin level (R2 = 0.731; p < 0.0001), and correlated negatively with serum levels of serum creatinine (R2 = 0.389, p < 0.0001), LDH (R2 = 0.545, p < 0.0010), calcium (R2 = 0.582, p < 0.0001), M-protein (R2 = 0.222, p = 0.005), and with the percentage of bone marrow plasma cells (R2 = 0.347, p < 0.0001), while urea and total protein did not show significant correlation (Figure 2). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and Miyoshi myopathy.
