Picon et al. [53] showed that in the brains of multiple sclerosis patients, TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1) and P-MLKL are specifically enriched in layers II–III of cortex and P-MLKL colocalized with TNFR1 in neurons in layers II–III, further supporting a role of TNFα signaling in necroptosis activation. Here, TNF is linked to multiple sclerosis.
