ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma: ALK positivity was seen more commonly in cases reported as adenocarcinoma as compared to cases reported as NSCLC, favour adenocarcinoma; however, this was not statistically significant (p=0.36) (Table 2). Furthermore, ALK gene rearrangements were seen in cases having focal solid and acinar (n=5; 71.4%), and papillary (n=2; 28.5%) architecture (Figure 1E,F).
