NLRC4 responds to bacterial flagellin and a conserved type III secretion system (TTSS) rod component, recruits pro-caspase-1 to directly form NLRC4 inflammasome and involves in a variety of pathogenic bacterial infection, such as Salmonella, Shigella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Zhao et al., 2011; Kesavardhana and Kanneganti, 2017; Duncan and Canna, 2018). Here, NLRC4 is linked to bacterial infectious disease.
