ACHE and Alzheimer disease: A number of alterations in the brain, including decreased acetylcholinesterase activity, increased hippocampal BDNF and Tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB) expression, accompanied the behavioural improvements (137), suggesting that linalool may improve cholinergic signalling and synaptic plasticity in this model of cognitive impairment resembling Alzheimer's disease.
