It was found that compared with WT mice, ALI mice presented with increased contents of IL-6 and TNF-α in the BALF, lung W/D ratio, and TUNEL-positive cells, whereas the content of SP-A was decreased, in addition to significant lung tissue damage, neutrophil infiltration, and exudation of inflammatory substances in the alveoli, indicating that the ALI mouse models were established successfully (Figures 1A–D).
