Indeed, between 22 and 25 weeks, EGFL7 levels in e-PE plasma samples were more than three times higher than those measured in controls or isolated IUGR samples (69.86 ± 6.17 vs. 19.8 ± 2.5 or 18.8 ± 2.8 μg/ml), suggesting a potential early diagnostic value of EGFL7 to discriminate between isolated IUGR and IUGR associated to PE. This evidence concerns the gene EGFL7 and fetal growth restriction.
