The results obtained indicated that the treatment with IM alone had negligible effects on the level of LC2 repopulation, as expected due to BCR/Abl suppression at the end of LC1 in low oxygen, whereas the co-treatment of IM with BPTES or TGS markedly decreased the maintenance of stem cell potential, pointing to the potential value of this combination for a therapeutic approach to the reduction in or suppression of MRD in CML. This evidence concerns the gene ABL1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
