Compared to equivalent static cultures, 3D ovarian cancer nodules grown under continuous flow (0–3.3 dyn/cm2) showed an increase in hallmarks of EMT (e.g., loss of E-cadherin, increase in vimentin and increase in spindle-like morphology), as well as an increase in expression and activation of the EGFR [9]. Here, EGFR is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
