At the mRNA level, the expression of slc38a2 (SNAT2, sodium-dependent neutral amino acid transporter 2) coding for transporters common to Ser increased significantly at 1 h post-infection (Figure 2A), while the mRNA expression levels of the other Ser transporters (slc1a4, slc1a5, slc6a14, slc7a9, slc7a10, slc38a1, and slc38a4) showed no significant differences (Figure 2A).
