SHBG and polycystic ovary syndrome: The review provided by Qu and Donnelly [37] also suggested a close association between the SHBG concentration and changes in lipids and indicated that serum SHBG levels may be a useful diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for managing women with PCOS, though more clinical studies are needed to assess the usefulness of SHBG as a biomarker for identifying young women who may later develop PCOS.
