Similar results were obtained by Gunning and Fauser [34] in a large cohort study, who also observed decreased concentrations of SHBG and HDL-C in women with PCOS and claimed that lower concentrations of those parameters as well as increased levels of CHO, LDL-C, and TG in PCOS increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Here, SHBG is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
