Dauricine, a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid isolated from the rootstock of Menispermum dauricum (Menispermaceae) [124], has been studied for its neuroprotective effects in a murine neuroblastoma cell line (N2a) stably transfected with the human Swedish mutant form of amyloid protein precursor (APP), an AD-like cell model [125]. Here, APP is linked to Alzheimer disease.
