Our results showed that the serum NT-proBNP level of infants with moderate-to-severe BPD/ death was significantly higher than that of infants without/mild BPD from 3 to 28 days after birth, and the predictive value on the 7th day after birth (±2 days) was the highest (the cutoff value was 3360 ng/L, the sensitivity was 80.0%, and the specificity was 86.2%) in VLBWs. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
