Finally, using the METSIM cohort, we found that the expression of the human ortholog of pho-1, ACP2, positively correlates with body weight and total triglycerides (S4 Fig), which is in line with our observations showing that knockdown of C. elegans’s pho-1 prevents diet-induced obesity. The gene discussed is ACP2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
