Specifically, lower expression of PUM2, POLR1D, ADAMTS9, DHX33, NOTCH4, EYS, TCF7L2, and KAT8 correlates with increased BMI, which is comparable to the obesity phenotype observed in C. elegans after RNAi knockdown of their orthologs puf-8, fbf-2, rpac-19, gon-1, let-355, glp-1, pop-1, and mys-1. The gene discussed is TCF7L2; the disease is obesity disorder.
