GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Patients with NAFLD appeared to be older, male predominant, and had higher BMI, systolic and diastolic pressure, and levels of blood glucose, HbA1c, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine, uric acid, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C), and lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels and AST/ALT ratios than those subjects without NAFLD (all p < 0.001) (Table 1).
