As expected, when inferred for pathway analysis, these genes revealed a substantial enrichment for pathways involved in Signal Transduction (8.5%), Cell Adhesion (3.7%), ECM Organisation (2.7%), Inflammatory Response (3.7%), Cytokine Signalling (2.8%) and Cell Migration (2.6%); a not unsurprising analysis given the role of Cav-1 in driving a range of different biological processes associated with cancer (75, 76) including EMT processes (77). This evidence concerns the gene CAV1 and cancer.
