EIF2AK3 and type 1 diabetes mellitus: In our study, we found that the EIF2AK3 gene greatly differed between domestic and wild ducks, and many studies showed that mutations in the EIF2AK3 gene can lead to Wolcott-Rallison syndrome [37–39], a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by permanent insulin-dependent diabetes, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia, and growth retardation.
