One of the first studies investigating the role of genetic polymorphism in pharmacoresistance in epilepsy was conducted by Siddiqui et al.28The authors tested the hypothesis that the variant C3435T (rs1045642) in the ATB‐binding cassette sub‐family B member 1 (ABCB1, also known as MDR1 and P‐glycoprotein) transporter gene may influence response to treatment. The gene discussed is ABCB1; the disease is epilepsy.
