Previous studies showed knockdown of the S100A4 gene could alter cell metabolism and promote invasion of lung cancer (Liu et al., 2019), restrict metastasis formation in colorectal cancer (Dahlmann et al., 2012), reduce the proliferative and invasive capacities of highly invasive prostate cancer cells (Saleem et al., 2006), and resulted in cell death in leukemia cells (Alanazi et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene S100A4 and lung carcinoma.
