VIP and Hypertension: In model 1, three metabolites (ethanolamine (β = 1.55, P=0.032), kyotorphin (β = 5.35, P=0.049), and 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-5-formylpyridine-4-carboxylate (β = 1.50, P=0.040)) were found to be significantly associated with hypertension with the aid of criteria (i.e., VIP > 1 and the adjusted q value < 0.05).
