Spliced isoforms have been found in various disease-specific autoantigens, such as multiple sclerosis (MS)-related autoantigen myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) and transformation of myelin proteolipid protein (PLP), type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM)-related autoantigen islet cell Ag 512 (IA-2), Sjögren’s syndrome (SS)-related autoantigen SS-B/La and SS-A/Ro, Graves’ disease (GD)-related autoantigen thyroid peroxidase (TPO), and others (28–33).
