MTOR and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis: Zhao YG et al. has demonstrated the immune regulatory function of DHA in reciprocally regulating Th and regulatory T cells (Treg) generation through the modulating mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway so as to prevent the onset of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) by modestly inhibiting the proliferation of activated T cells and particularly virtually abolishing Th17 differentiation (Zhao et al., 2012).
