FCHSD2 and atherosclerosis: C6ORF10 associates with susceptibility to CAD in Chinese Han [26], Cadherin 13 (CDH13) has SNPs which associate with multiple CAD risks [27, 28], COMM domain-containing 5 (COMMD5) has been identified in rodent models as associated with hypertension [29], the fibrillin 3 locus (FBN3) associates with metabolic syndrome in the Framingham cohort [30], and the FCH and double SH3 domains 2 (FCHSD2) locus has been associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) [31], an autoimmune disease frequently complicated by aggressive atherosclerosis.
