In a multicenter retrospective study of 607 COVID-19 patients in Istanbul, Turkey, laboratory results expectedly showed significant increases in the levels of inflammatory factors, such as CRP, procalcitonin, D-dimer, aspartate transaminase and high sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI), in patients who required ICU care, those who developed ARDS, and those who died [31].
